Looking back now it all makes sense… As we grow and evolve as individuals, our experiences, lessons, trials and triumphs all shape how we respond to our environments in the moment and most importantly, who we become.
Like many of you, in my twenties I thought I knew it all and had it all figured out. in my thirties, I realized I definitely didn’t, and so I took the time to open my eyes, my mind, and my heart to explore further. One thing has always been clear, my belief in God as my maker and Savior, though how I exercised my commitment to Him and to Christianity was not always consistent and even rather questionable at times. Fast forward to my forties, goodness and God Bless, I am so grateful that I arrived here! Through true self reflection—not just the one and done kind—through daily, ongoing reflection and evaluation, I have opened my heart and mind to continue evolving as a human being into what my creator made for me and to who I am destined to be.
Part of the process in learning yourself is learning what you like and what you dislike. How many of us said we liked something and we really didn’t but wanted to “fit in” in the moment? Now, in my forties I know exactly what I like and first, cake! While I try my best to eat a balanced diet, inclusive of clean and whole foods, there is one thing that is undeniable and that is I have a sweet tooth! On special occasions or sometimes just because, my #1 choice will always be cake: white cake with vanilla frosting to be exact! Then cashmere, I love the soft, luxe feel of cashmere; scarfs, gloves, sweaters, all things cozy and classic. There was a time, in my 20s and 30s when I would buy less expensive and trending items that wouldn’t last and would go out of style. I realize now, my classic and quality pieces may cost a little more but they will last and remain a timeless staple in my closet. Quality over quantity all day long.
Through my passion for travel, one thing is clear: I’m in search of something sweet and a quality piece to add to my wardrobe. I invite you to join me in my exploration to beautiful places, with amazing company, delightful cuisine and sweets, and the world’s best shopping!
First cake, then cashmere!
Bye for now!
